On July 26, 2023, MITCON Nature Based Solution and Colagen Research Private Limited launched a new joint venture company, PLANETEYE FARM-AI LIMITED. The company will focus on using remote sensing and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop products and services that support agriculture and forestry.
The company has an ambitious vision of using advanced technologies to overcome the obstacles faced by the agriculture and forest industries of the country. It aims at accelerating the scientific and technical research and development of Nature-Based Solutions and other means of sustainability in agriculture, forestry, agroforestry, environment, agricultural plantation, horticultural crops, medicinal and aromatic plants sectors.
Planeteye Farm-AI desires to be established as a center for knowledge and technical advisory services for agriculture, agricultural practices, and its outputs.
Some of the products and services offered by the company will include monitoring of air, water, and crop health, soil analysis, understanding of weather patterns, precision agriculture, remote monitoring of crop development, possible disaster warnings and mitigation actions.
These products and services are offered through modern, non-conventional techniques like GPS-based technologies, remote sensing technology, artificial intelligence, and advanced computational methods, direct contact sensors, space-based technologies. Use of latest technology and skilled personnel will assist in delivering accurate results.
Not only agriculture and forestry, the Planeteye Farm-AI Company’s plan of action also includes the sustainability sector, similar to its parent company MITCON. It intends to apply observatory satellite data about Earth’s physical, chemical and biological systems in analyzing the present state and changes in the natural and manmade environment, rapidly assessing situations during crises such as extreme weather events and disasters.
