MEDA-MITCON jointly organized a One Day Business Meet on Energy Cost Reduction & Mix Optimization for Sugar Factories in the State of Maharashtra on December 27, 2019 at Hotel Sheraton Grand, Pune.
The business meet was attended by 70+ executives from the top sugar factories in Maharashtra. The event was facilitated by Chief Guest Sh. Shekhar Gaikwad, Commissioner of Sugar, who expressed the need for sugar factories to adopt the latest technologies in their projects and operations, in view of today’s tech-savvy lifestyle, to face the challenges and survive in the current and future competitive world.
In his opening remark, Sh. K.B. Umap, DG, MEDA, expressed the urgent need for improving the energy efficiency and optimum utilization of wastes from sugar plant complexes, in particular.
The keynote address was given by delivered by Sh. Ajit Chougule, ED, WISMA, Ms. Meenal Ware, Sakhar Sangh, Dr. Pradeep Bavadekar, MD, MITCON and Sh. Dinesh Jagdale, Jt. Secretary, MNRE. All the guests expressed the dire need for reducing energy costs at Sugar plant complexes, as well as optimize energy mix through BioCNG and Solar projects.
The aim of this event was to sensitize the Sugar Factories in the Maharashtra State to reduce their operating costs by optimizing their energy mix, adopting and implementing the necessary energy efficiency technologies, renewable energy projects like Biogas to Power/CNG, rooftop & ground mounted Solar power plants.
