Opportunity
Talegaon’s youngsters have wage and self-employment opportunities. The youth there required improvement and necessary skills in order to make them employable, as well as teach life skills and develop connections in order to ensure long-term sustainability and improved quality of life.
MITCON, with an association with the prestigious ACG Cares Foundation, devised a thorough plan for 27 villages of Talegaon. It includes:
Focus Groups:

Quantitative Measures & Indicators:
➜ Number of beneficiaries willing to participate in skill training programs
➜ Multi-skilled workers are in high demand in the local economy.
➜ The location of the training centers will be determined.
➜ Existing SHGs and Farmer Clubs, as well as their actions of rooting

The training programs were devised and trainers, both technical and soft skills, were appointed.
Outcome
As a consequence of the collaboration between MITCON and ACF, skill development training was made available at the local level, resulting in the creation of a skilled workforce in 27 villages in Talegaon. As a consequence, the participants’ livelihoods improved, and job prospects grew as a result of newly skilled entrepreneurs. It boosted confidence, piqued their interest in self-employment, and broadened their understanding of business options and the market.
